Snap Stop is the final product of a semester long project in my sophomore year product design studio. It’s meant to improve the parking break mechanism on recumbent tricycles used by quadriplegics.
The clip works by squeezing the brake and handlebar together to prevent the bike’s wheels from rotating. Its simple snap design allows riders with limited mobility to use the product and it increases the longevity of the braking system compared to the current recumbent brakes.
